IMAGE #2-
This was my second attempt at creating a photogram. Although I couldn't find my first photogram I did, I know my second go was more successful than my first attempt. I like this photo because it shows all different shades between black and white, where as my first image didn't show many colours. The reason I got this effect on my photogram with the different shades, was because I overlapped objects on top of each other, to create shadows. I think the most effective part of this photogram was the light bulb, as the bright light went on in the dark room, all the light bounced around in the glass of the bulb, which made the lines inside the glass. |
A photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a light-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light.
The usual result is a negative shadow image that shows variations in tone that depends upon the transparency of the objects used. Areas of the paper that have received no light appear white; those exposed through transparent or semi-transparent objects appear grey. Here are some more examples of photograms and photograms. |
